Lives: 38 Orchard Avenue

Age: Mid Thirties

Appearance: 5’ 9” tall, average build with a mop of straight light brown hair, green eyes.

Tim is a quiet man, not unfriendly but often shy of making the first move in a social situation, preferring to stay in the background and observe rather than join in. He rarely gets rattled about anything, taking life as it comes, a pleasant but unremarkable man.

Family: Wife: Sandra

Background: Emily Mossop was in her early forties when she gave birth to her only child, Timothy. Her husband, William, a few years older and already considering early retirement was at first stunned and then delighted at the prospect of fatherhood. Tim was brought up in a very loving atmosphere but surrounded by books and cosseted by parents devoted to his education, he missed out on interaction with other small children when his mother, a teacher herself, decided that she would tutor him at home. Reasonably comfortable in the company of adults but shy and diffident amongst his peers he was teased and ribbed by neighbourhood children. At eleven, his parents decided that he should attend the local secondary school, recognising his need to mix socially. He did well academically but initially found the going hard, still being the target of bullies for his shy and hesitant ways. He persevered and eventually made one or two friends.

Losing both his parents within a few months of each other while he was at university was a bitter blow to Tim and for a while he became almost reclusive, only leaving his studies to attend lectures and having no interaction with the few friends he did have. When his father’s solicitor and friend, Gerard Pilkington, sought him out after letters regarding William Mossop’s will had been ignored, he found him worryingly withdrawn. As an acquaintance of Tim’s too, Gerard persuaded him to spend the summer vacation at his second home in the Scottish Highlands, initially with him and his wife and to stay on with Mrs. Pilkington when Gerard returned to his practice in Woodbury. This was the first of many holidays he spent with the couple and it was there, while out walking, that he literally stumbled across Alessandra Clarke who was to become his wife.

Currently: Tim works as a research chemist for a local pharmaceutical company. He still enjoys walking and he and Sandra can often be seen tramping the lanes and fields around Milliwick.
